Materials & Craftsmanship
made by hand, made to last
tajdīd means renewal. Every piece is made by hand in small numbers, from materials chosen to be worn for years and passed on — not replaced. Here's what goes into them.
Metals
Everything we make is solid metal — never plated. We work in solid sterling silver and solid gold, so the metal is the same all the way through; there's no plating to rub off over time. Sterling silver is .925 — 92.5% pure silver, the standard for fine jewelry. Where a piece is solid gold, its karat is noted on the piece's own page. We describe every metal accurately and never imply a material a piece isn't made of.
Stones
Many pieces feature natural stones, such as turquoise. Because these are formed in the earth, no two are identical — slight differences in color, veining, and character are part of their beauty, not flaws. Any treatments a stone has received are disclosed on its product page.
Made by hand
Each piece is finished by hand in small batches, which means subtle, natural variation from one to the next. That's the signature of real craftsmanship — your piece is genuinely its own, not a stamped copy.
Worn close to the skin
Because our pieces are made in sterling silver and gold rather than cheap alloys, they're kinder to sensitive skin than costume jewelry. If you have a known metal sensitivity, reach out before ordering and we'll talk you through a piece's materials.
Caring for it
A little care keeps a piece looking its best for a lifetime. See our Care, Warranty & Shipping page for how to store, clean, and look after your jewelry — and the lifetime care we offer behind it.
